A new achievement for the IOST blockchain that brings home a great milestone in changing the way we vote, a system that is now worn and outdated. And it is precisely for this reason that perhaps Japan has decided to use the blockchain, specifically the IOST blockchain, for voting.
It has been announced that the Japanese political party SANSEITO has implemented “guild voting”, a digital voting application created by a team of developers, PHI Inc, specialized in DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) and who have a node on this blockchain.
With its smart contracts, IOST allows counting the votes, saving the results, and obtaining reliable data.
This is voting at the party level, and therefore within the party itself, to democratize the whole process and test its effectiveness, seeing that the goal is to connect the party with the community.
We are talking about around 5000 members and therefore a fairly extensive user base.
The chosen interface is quite simple: it presents the agenda topic and a box to choose yes or no, or another choice in case of more options.
This is one of the few cases, in Japan, where we can see the actual use of a voting system that uses the blockchain.
Recently, in Japan, IOST has been used to create a platform in the medical field, while in China, IOST got asked by the government to integrate and develop a blockchain programme in the country.
Finally, let’s not forget that this blockchain uses PoB (Proof of Believability), a type of PoS (Proof of Stake), which allows it to be extremely fast and integrate different functions such as smart contracts and the possibility to create tokens, including NFTs (Non Fungible Tokens).
Meanwhile, the price of the asset continues to advance relentlessly and over the last month alone its value has increased by 133%.
